Canterbury Lacrosse, based in Christchurch New Zealand, has announced a new president, Jim Colins following the AGM this past Tuesday. Jim has accepted the post and will be in charge of growing Canterbury lacrosse for men, women and youth.

Is Lacrosse on it's way to the Olympics?

Recently the Olympic Committee has lowered the number of countries participating in a new Olympic sport from 75 to 40. Does this mean that lacrosse could be part of the 2020 Olympics as a demo sport?

Burnside High School Lacrosse Demo

On Monday May 10th Roar Lacrosse will be running a Lacrosse Demo session at Burnside High School. The session will run in the lunch hour from 12 - 1pm on the field by the netball courts. The format will be a short Demo of the game from players followed by a sticks an skills session by some of our coaches. If you are interested in joining us for the session you should contact the Sports Council at Burnside High school, they are coordinating the session for us.

Canterbury Lacrosse AGM

The Canterbury Lacrosse Association has announced it's AGM will be Tuesday May 4th at 6pm at Paparoa Street School Hall in Papanui. The AGM is your opportunity to come and get involved in Lacrosse in Canterbury.

Canterbury Roar Lacrosse in Christchurch

A new larosse club is in town and they want you! Canterbury Roar Lacrosse has just begun recruiting players for their youth, mens and womens teams. The Roar currently offer youth lacrosse programs at schools in Canterbury for students aged 9yrs and up. Their primary goals are to build youth lacrosse across Canterbury and to start a youth league in the area for schools who wish to play.

Cobham Intermediate Lacrosse

This term Cobham Intermediate has undertaken introducing the game of lacrosse to 6 classes.
 
Cobham have a large number of students who love to try anything new and are really embracing the opportunity and challenge of a new sport. We hope to continue to see the growth of youth lacrosse in Christchurch, early beginnings....

New Zealand Lacrosse National Tournament Auckland 2010

On January 30th and 31st Auckland will be hosting the NZ National Lacrosse Tournament at College Rifles Park in Remuera. Canterbury will be bringing some junior boys for U14 and U17 games in the mornings followed by Mens and Womens games. The tournament high point will be the NZ Mens team playing against an Australian selection team every day in the late afternoons. Come a long and support a growing sport in New Zealand!
